Welcome to The Meadows Early Learning Centre. Nestled in the village of Matangi, Tamahere, just outside the eastern boarder of Hamilton, Waikato. The Meadows is a place where children and families grow together. We hope The Meadows and our teachers will become part of your family/whānau, that we are able to share our passion and love for learning. With the aspiration that every child feels that this is a place to grow, where they have the freedom to explore and develop naturally, as nature intended.We provide an environment where children can explore and develop at their pace and in their own time. In our purpose-built, rural setting, children can connect with nature in our landscaped outdoor play area and gardens.We believe that children need time, space and the right environment in which to grow, to develop an awareness of who they are as individuals, their strengths and abilities. The resources we provide have been carefully chosen to support connections with the natural environment. The inclusion of and provocation with items that encourage children's creativity and imagination, their thinking and inquiry. Open ended resources are utilised to support children to discover, hypothesise, test out ideas and develop positive working theories about the world around them, inclusive of people, places and things. In a world that is ever changing, what is important is that we encourage children to share, develop and grow dispositions of collaboration, resilience and perseverance that support success regardless of where our children find themselves. We value our connections with nature; where puddles are seen as opportunities to explore the properties of water and spider webs share the magic of mathematics.
