Do you remember going up to the attic and discovering the wonder of generations past? Even better, if you got to sit by the fire flipping through old, faded photos with your grandparents as they told you stories. Today's generations are overwhelmed by technology that -attempts- to preserve our memories. Photos, journals, Facebook, Instagram, cloud backup--our memories are scattered all over the place, and it can make passing our memories down more difficult. But telling stories is easy. And there's a wonder in oral storytelling--in hearing the stories of our ancestors told in their own voices. In the chaos of day-to-day life, we don't always get around to documenting or organizing our stories, and our descendants don't always think to ask us to. And when we don't, our memories, stories, and family heritage can be lost. The Memory Collective is the solution. We are a spoken memory preservation service that captures and organizes memories through the ancient art of storytelling. Our services bring sweeping ancestry together so family members generations apart might know one another on a personal level. With our subscription service, you record yourself telling stories throughout the month on your smartphone. When we receive your stories, we organize them and index them so you or future family members can find a specific memory with ease. Memories are kept safe and consolidated on our cloud-based Memory Vault so you and your descendants can access them forever. Our other key service is for special cases where a subscription may not be the best fit. Elders in your family may not even own a smartphone, or you may have a pressing timeline that a subscription wouldn't lend to. In these cases, we meet directly with the Memory Giver and interview them to capture stories over a matter of hours or days (with safety precautions in mind, of course). The Memory Collective is a one-stop shop for all your memory preservation needs. Contact us for a list of full services.
