The Motherhood Consortium was established to bring together those working with mothers and babies so that an open dialogue about the issues most challenging and relevant to their field can be discussed in a structured, professional manner. As our vision states -- The Motherhood Consortium is an inclusive community of individuals who provide care and nurturing for mothers, families and their babies either through education, enrichment or social/emotional support. Anyone offering professional services to this population is encouraged to attend -- from doctors and nurses, from "Mommy & Me" to preschool teachers to music or sign language educators, from lactation specialists to postpartum Doulas and midwives, from physical therapists and speech therapists to parenting experts. All are welcome!Meetings are held each month, -- Friday mornings 8:30am-10:30am, alternately, at the Braemar Country Club in Tarzana and in Pasadena where meetings are hosted by the Della Martin Center at Huntington Memorial Hospital. They include an informal time for networking, a formal presentation, and a continental breakfast.
