THE MWEZI FOUNDATION Details
The Mwezi Foundation manufactures and donates solar lights to school children in Kenya. We employ 3 Kenyans - John our technician who assembles and services the lights, Dorcas and Julia, our schools managers, who visit each school termly and maintain regular contact with the teachers who are in charge of the lights. They make sure the lights are used wisely and they replace any broken lights regularly. John then fixes the lights and we re-donate them. We do not donate and dash, we build relationships and ensure there is minimum waste and obsolescence. We currently support 40 schools with one or more light libraries of 16 lights. We plan to double this number within two years.
