the neighbors is a Chicago-based arts organization that functions on a glocal scale. When we say "glocal", we mean global and local—conversations that traverse continental borders and enrich the ones with which we share our immediate neighborhoods. We are a community of artists, designers, writers, curators, and organizers coming together to make something even more expansive than our individual practices. This project is about inclusivity and is grounded in fostering meaningful relationships. It is about radical joy, radical play, and innovation. the neighbors attempts to scratch the surface of the endless possibilities of collective human will. We are dedicated to using art as a vehicle to bring people together. We are completely volunteer fueled. We have served over one-hundred artists from over thirty-five cities across the globe through our virtual and in person programming including residencies, exhibitions, performance events, discussions, and workshops. Oh, we also host parties. (We hope to see you at the next one)
