The Nest is Springfield Public Schools premier retail learning laboratory in the form of a school-based enterprise (SBE). A school-based enterprise (SBE) is an entrepreneurial operation in a school setting that provides goods/services to meet the needs of the market. SBE's are managed and operated by students as hands-on learning laboratories that integrate National Curriculum Standards in marketing, finance, hospitality or management. At Glendale High School, Marketing Education students, supported by the DECA organization (An Association of Marketing Students) operate every aspect of the school store. From the selection of merchandise and the printed designs to the upkeep of this website and customer service requests, students run the business.MISSION: To increase Glendale school spirit and operate a profitable student-run retail business while providing realistic and practical learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction.
