With the increasing technologization of our working and living environments, The NeuroTech Institute (NTI) was founded in 2018 to take a multidisciplinary approach to researching the neurophysiology of interaction - between humans, and between humans and technology, to gain a clearer understanding of what changes, and what works. NTI examines the complex and unique benefits that both technology and people offer, how they interact, and how this is further impacted by the systems dynamics built around them. Combining the lenses of cognitive neuroscience, psychology, complex systems dynamics and engineering, we work with technologists, CEO's, sectors (including health, aged care, education and defence) and policy makers to better utilize both human and artificial intelligence, and create and use technology that truly enables us.As 2020 forced the virtualization of many aspects of our lives, often via technology not yet ready for the job, the increasing demand for NTI's niche expertise has prompted the establishment of FOCUS consulting to meet the need for accurate information on human connectivity, the use of different technologies in specific situations (including hybrid and virtual work and service settings), and how to build adaptivity for fast changing environments. Some things stay the same, and we help people maintain a focus on trust, adaptive leadership, consistent values and foresight whilst understanding how technology can help and hinder navigation of the dispersed, virtualized, changing environment. FOCUS works alongside business, service and sector clients to help them identify how these elements impact each other, and provide tailored solutions to ensure that individuals and entities adapt, engage and thrive in current and future environments, and that services deliver what people need.
