The Nonsuch Island Nature Reserve is home to the Bermuda Petrel or "Cahow" Translocation Project where this critically endangered Lazarus species is being brought back after 300+ years being thought extinct. As part of its Mission to leverage technology to solve Conservation challenges, LookBermuda's Nonsuch Expeditions CahowCam project in conjunction with the Bermuda Government Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources has been broadcasting LIVE from the underground nesting burrows for the past 8 years. Over the past 3 seasons over 20 million minutes of CahowCam video were watched through a new partnership with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology which is being expanded upon in 2019 with the installation of additional cameras and the development of educational resources.
