Approximately half the course consists of practical training with qualified driving instructors from various railway companies with experience in both passenger and freight traffic. The school has a large simulation centre that is used extensively in training. This provides an opportunity for the students to practice what they've learned in a safe environment. The course concludes with a period of accredited practice, as well as a written and oral examination. The Academy also offers courses in adapted pedagogy for instructors and supervisors, as well as railway infrastructure courses in the simulation centre. The Norwegian Train Driver Academy is located at Jernkroken in Oslo. We share premises with the Norwegian Railway Academy.
