The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund is a registered charity providing financial assistance to current and past employees and their dependants of eligible organisations within the Nuclear Industry. The Fund was established in 1957 as the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) Benevolent Fund. Originally it helped current and past non-industrial employees of United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, British Nuclear Fuels and Amersham International. In 1998 it became the UBA Benevolent Fund and in 2013 it changed its name to The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund. With the many changes that have taken place in the Nuclear Industry, now it also helps people in a wide range of organisations which are linked back to the original bodies. The Fund provides interest free loans and grants to cover short or long term problems. Applicants need not be contributors to the Fund and assistance can include help for dependent family members. As the purpose of the charity is to relieve poverty, any assistance we provide is means tested.Registered charity number:208729Website: www.tnibf.orgAddress: Unit CU1, Warrington Business Park, Long Lane, Warrington, WA2 8TXTel: 01925 633005
