Founded in 2019, The Opal Season Company is a Canadian consultancy that empowers families living with dementia, and their care communities, through creative and purposeful psychosocial support and education. Designed as a social enterprise, the Opal Season uses mission-driven strategies to allocate resources to address inequitable dementia care for two traditionally under-supported communities: Indigenous elders and rural Canadian seniors.To date, she has worked with families, faith groups, arts organizations and private companies in Yellowknife, Edmonton, Regina, Toronto, and New York City, and has collaborated with dementia advocates, artists and researchers in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.Understanding the impact the impending demographic shift will have for Canadian families, The Opal Season Company's forward-looking mission is to bring the best in dementia care and aging population products to communities and caregivers across the country.
