The Ops Cube was founded in 2010 when a niche in the market was identified for a lack of experienced procurement consulting focusing predominantly on direct categories. The aim was to bring a high level of support from initial sourcing (both global and local) all the way through to completed implementation. The intent was to work alongside the customer's Purchasing Department for best results. 80% of our business is still engaged with direct materials.By 2011, partnerships with purchasing contacts in the UK, China and Mexico have helped The Ops Cube develop a global capability, beyond the US. As early as 2012, The Ops Cube ventured into indirect categories to, as the same customers asked us to expand our capabilities into these areas. Again, the preference was to support our customers all the way through to implementation.By providing this end-to-end (sourcing to implementation) philosophy, The Ops Cube effectively commits to the customer for the project life. Our success and the customers' success are inextricably linked. While the obvious deliverable could be cost savings, The Ops Cube believes that by helping the customer develop or maintain a procurement strategy for that category, longer term cost benefits are achieved.The Ops Cube naturally developed into supporting other services around the procurement function, such that most requests can be supported.Today, The Ops Cube is a well respected organization that supports manufacturing and service clients alike. We own a very broad and deep directs and indirects supplier database, searchable by category type, process capability, financial size, quality accreditation and footprint around the world.
