The Osmosis Unit was originally set up in 1996 within the UK National Health Service. It became independent in 2000 and now provides osmotic analysis and scientific consultancy to the Healthcare industry. Products developed to date include a disk testing system for quantifying the removal of blood and protein from surgical instruments during the cleaning process, electro-elution a new method of removing protein from stainless steel, and the formulation for a non alcoholic bacterial wipe the first to demonstrate a residual antimicrobial effect.
