The ParenTween Connection launched in January 2018 to connect and support parents of all varieties: birth, adoptive, foster, grand, step, honorary, and more. They say kids don't come with handbooks, and while there are abundant resources for parents of babies and small children, there is a noticeable lack of support for parents of teens and tweens. As a result, when their kids start getting into tough situations (like drinking, drugs, sex, and more), parents often feel as though they're at a loss about where to turn for support - not only for their kids, but for themselves, too.ParenTween Connection aims to help fill that gap. Our primary goal is to create a community for parents via our closed Facebook group, wherein we have some fantastic conversations about all kinds of things that relate to teens. How do I support my high school junior who just doesn't care about school? How do I manage a sleep-over situation where the plan is to show a movie that I'm not comfortable with my child seeing? How do I support the child who has just come out to me?Our secondary goal is to connect parents to experts who can help answer those questions. Our in-person and online workshops give parents easy access to professionals who've been there and done that. From eating disorder specialists to test prep coaches, our experts cover a wide variety of topics. Our Preferred Providers have been thoroughly vetted to ensure that we bring the best of the best to our community - when a parent reaches out to one of our Preferred Providers, she can trust that she'll get the support she expects, and more!
