Construction Project Partnering Partnering is an effort to draw out the best in people to achieve a successful project outcome for all parties involved. Achieving ‘the best' forces you to depend on other people. Brute force works for pile-driving but not motivating people to perform as desired, let alone occasionally performing ‘above and beyond'.Straight-forward, generic team-building and trust-building is effective. Overt and unrelated team-building for the sake of team-building is insulting and demotivating. So what is the solution? Make it relevant. Make it useful. Make it enjoyable to participate. Build your team around a collaborative effort that is not unrelated to the project and your team will gain understanding and appreciation. We all respond well to being given the opportunity to make meaningful & useful contributions.Mindless exercises to build trust may be long remembered while the commitments are quickly forgotten.
