Giving hope a home. We are a refuge for girls in Ghana, West Africa. Changing the world one Pearl at a time. The Pearl House is a refuge where girls are loved unconditionally, educated, trained and spiritually prepared to re-enter society as skilled, Ghanaian women. It is currently home to 20 girls from the Northern, Brong Ahafo, Greater Accra and Volta Regions. They are cared for by two Ghanaian housemothers, our director and our interns. They are enrolled in a private Christian school and learning about becoming Godly women through their daily lives. The girls came to our house when some pastors in remote villages of Ghana were asked to identify hopeless and destitute girls. Girls who, without help would soon be married or on their way to Accra to sell goods by day and their bodies by night. On July 13, 2013, the first set of Pearls arrived, followed by the rest of the girls two weeks later.
