The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Rwanda to the United Nations represents Rwanda at the UN. The work of the Rwanda Mission is centered on the two guiding pillars of Rwanda's Foreign Policy:1. To contribute to the attainment of peace, security and stability in Rwanda, the regions, the continent and globally by establishing good relations with all countries,2. To contribute to wealth creation through development cooperation, investment and tourism promotion, transfer of knowledge and technology, equitable world trade and regional integration.Cognizant of the fact that the world is more globalized today than ever before, the achievement of national priorities more frequently necessitates the use of multilateral avenues through diplomacy. In this regards, the Rwanda Mission ensures that Rwanda leverages on all diplomatic avenues at the UN- which is the worlds ‘largest, most familiar, most internationally represented and most powerful intergovernmental organization in the world.' (National Geographic Encyclopedia 2012). To achieve this, the Rwanda Mission actively participates in the General Assembly Committees and engages with member states to establish mutually beneficial diplomatic relations.
