We are an online decor emporium that sell mainly goods made and sourced in South Africa. Because we want to invest in our economy by selling goods made by South Africans for South Africans. Welcome to The Pickled Fish The idea of The Pickled Fish came from my love of all things décor especially those made in Africa. I wanted to find a way to promote and develop the traditional skills of the artists and artisans in Africa, whilst building a sustainable business for myself and in the process supporting local artists and artisans in Africa. I love all things South African and found it challenging to find good quality handpicked items all in one place online. I grew frustrated every time I wanted to buy something "home grown" and it was made in China. So The Pickled Fish was born from a love of all things old school, all things African and my love for South Africa. I wanted to save people time whilst being able to shop from the comfort of their homes by helping them buy furniture, antiques, gifts and décor items that are beautifully made and locally produced. In a world that is fast-paced and ever time-demanding, I wanted to offer my customers peace of mind in knowing when purchasing something from us at The Pickled Fish, you are buying great quality items, handpicked and selected by us personally. You will find a "few" items on here that aren't home grown but I fell in love with them and had to share them with you all.
