The Planning Initiative was established in 1996 and provides a specialist and professional service to the private sector, communities, local and district municipalities as well as provincial and national government departments.The team has skills in Town and Regional Planning, Land Use Management and Planning Applications (including Rezoning and Consent Applications), Integrated Development Planning and Spatial Frameworks, Project and Programme Management, Community Engagement, Conflict Resolution, Development Facilitation, Property Development and Business Planning, Community Engagement, and Development Facilitation.Our values: Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship.History: The Planning Initiative was launched by Dave Dale in 1996 and has been run as a successful consultancy since. Cathy Ferguson took over the company in 2008. David Briginshaw joined the firm in 2007 and became a member in 2012. He is now the sole member of the company. David Briginshaw Qualifications: MSUREP, B.Soc.Sc, University of KwaZulu NatalDavid has a wealth of experience in spatial plans and overall project management and is also an experienced and competent GIS specialist. Cathy Dale (previously Ferguson) works in association with TPI Qualifications: MTRP, B.Soc.Sc (Hon), UKZN, Cum LaudeRegistrations: SACPLAN A/733/1993Cathy has excellent experience in statutory planning, strategic planning and programme management and is passionate about regeneration.
