The Poppin' College Tour (PCT) is a comprehensive program that is designed to help at-risk and disadvantaged youth to visualize and pursue a positive future. The PCT utilizes public health principles to tackle the complex issues that our youth face on a daily basis, such as youth violence, low ambition, and low academic achievement in schools. The PCT leverages community partners to provide students with the resources and guidance needed to overcome such issues, in an effort to engage the community as an active participant in the success of future generations. The PCT is committed to serving the needs of the community, and thus, remains a moldable program with components uniquely designed to meet the current needs of its students.At its core, The Poppin' College Tour aims to expose youth to the possibilities that exist for their future, and to equip them with tools necessary to become successful as they define it. During the college visit day experience, all students receive a tailor-made plan to help them achieve their vision of success. Student attendees typically report an improved sense of purpose, an improved sense of the possibilities that exist for their future as a result of participation in the program.
