Here at the Positive Psychology Project we believe in a world where surviving is replaced by striving.Using methods and techniques grounded in Positive Psychology - the science of what makes life worth living - we coach our clients in the realms of Health, Wellness, Performance and Job Satisfaction.No longer is the scientific field of Psychology focused only on people's shortcomings and the lessening of human misery. In addition to the relief of suffering, psychologists and coaches can now use their knowledge to inject happiness, social connection, trust and wellness back into our lives. This is largely possible because of the tools derived from practices such as Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, two fields recognised as greatly complementary to one another. Positive Psychology advocates building upon the positive aspects of one's life, using evidence-driven mechanisms to achieve higher states of subjective well-being (how well you personally think you're doing). Both Positive and Coaching Psychology concern themselves with wellbeing and performance enhancement, with a focus on the individual's strengths rather than their weaknesses. In this vein, both disciplines revisit the ‘average' person, coming up with strategies that allow us to promote optimal functioning, rather than just reducing our degree of suffering.
