Every day in the US, women are harassed. Most of the time, the harasser does not intend to threaten the woman – but she has no idea what his intent is. “If I try to walk away, will he try to stop me? Yell at me? Assault me? Rape me?” She doesn’t know. At that moment, all she wants is a way to safely escape the situation. She looks for excuses to step away, to politely end the conversation and move on with her day. Sometimes, that’s easy. Sometimes, it’s not. The Pride uses the woman’s personal network (and, eventually, a community-based network) to ensure that perfectly timed phone call or personal interruption allows her safe escape from the situation.The Pride uses a small, Bluetooth button (attached to a keychain or watch/FitBit band, with other covers and designs optional) and associated apps. The Pride's focus on building a community sets it apart from our competitors.
