Hiphop group whose music strongly reminds you of the Native Tongue movement from New York. Made the most expensive clip in Dutch history in 2000 during the football European Championships in collaboration with Nike. Later releases were ground breaking on a mixture of electro, experimental and jazzy hiphop beats. Innovation-driven. There's MC Gumshoe, the energenic one. The vortex when it comes to ideas. There's MC CeeMajor, that laid back dude. The raw funk extortioner. On their excursions they are joined by the funky producers Colt & L.Geronimo & the magnificent DJ's S-Dub, Optimus & DJ Friss (Kraanje Pappie, Playground Zer0, etc.).The Proov played at many festivals & venues / A-Podia located. In The Netherlands (homeground) they played at festivals such as North Sea Jazz & Lowlands and clubs such as Paradiso & Melkweg. Support-act to artists such as: Organized Konfusion, Mos Def, J-Live, Masta Ace, etc. Collabo's with Brainpower, Pete Philly, J-Rawls (Lone Catelysts), Pax The Humanoid (known from Kyteman), Perquisite, New Cool Collective (Benjamin Herman, Jos de Haas), Eric Vloeimans and many more.The Proov made multiple albums released on CMC records (also known from the Postmen) and Improovment records (icw V2 & Rushhour distribution). Their videos were played at (inter)national TV and radio stations such as MTV, TMF, VPRO (NPO3), BNN (NPO 1 en 3), FunX, The Box, among others.
