The Recess College was founded by Elisabeth Henderson in 1988 to offer experience of personal transformation, leadership and authenticity towards others. The aim of The Recess College is to equip you for leadership at work and in the rest of your life. To enable you to make an impact in the workplace with a fresh perspective and heightened personal awareness of yourself and your leadership style.Our programmes are often experienced as highly condensed versions of ‘real-life in a different setting'. You learn about the demands of self-leadership and leadership of others in organisations through a community of shared purpose created by the participants. The College ‘works below the surface of leadership', understanding the connection between the individual, the collective and the organisation - and how the individual operates, survives and influences within all these.- The Senior Sabbatical -A life-enhancing leadership programme for senior leaders who wish to discover at a deeper level who they really are and want to gain greater focus in their life and work. It enables you to develop your self-leadership and leadership of others.- Our Future Leaders -An experiential laboratory on organisational life for young leaders in their twenties and thirties developing current and future roles. It provides experience of how everyday politics and norms of organisations operate and opportunity to develop self-leadership in handling authority and hierarchy.- The Living Lab - gives senior leaders a fresh view on how organisational life operates, flourishes and meets potential. You work intergenerationally on the life of a temporary organisation to create a work culture that both delivers and endures.- The Leadership Insight Profile -Designed for leaders and managers, this offers a personal consultation that is a personalised, deeper alternative to coaching available to all potential leaders. Highly relevant for supporting people across a spectrum of backgrounds.
