At The Sahara Centre, we are committed to advancing socio-cultural development in Nigeria through research projects and interventions. We seek answers to the fundamental issues that affect the development of our society. Culture is who we are and what shapes our identity. We focus on the‘people' element of sustainable development to build a better Nigerian society.INDIGO is an initiative of The Sahara Centre. We provide an eco-friendly hub specifically for researchers, right in the centre of Lagos while also building a community that produces quality research in Nigeria. INDIGO is home to researchers, architects, artists, psychotherapists, biomedical scientists, urban developers, project managers and others doing amazing research-based work in Nigeria.LANTERN is our series of workshops and seminars for individuals, corporate and government organisations. Our aim is to develop reflective, problem-solving skills which contribute to sound decision making, leadership ability and effectiveness. Our various activities aim to teach, mentor and inspire a new generation of critical thinkers. They in turn also contribute to societal change through volunteering and interning on projects. We promote collective action and document these interventions in our case studies so others can learn from the insights garnered from our projects.
