Nonprofit Organization Management - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Programs throughout Greater Philadelphia include (but are not limited to):Hunger Relief: We provide emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, and more to help those facing food insecurity. We serve food to our underserved children in our after-school programs, the elderly at our senior programs, forgotten friends at our homeless shelters, people looking to better their lives at our addiction recovery facilities, survivors rebuilding their lives after a disaster, and domestic violence/anti-human trafficking victims.Emergency Assistance: We help those in need with emergency assistance requests including rent/mortgage, utilities, clothing, furniture, prescriptions, and more depending on the need. Trained case managers meet with clients to help them with their needs/work through the barriers they face.Senior Programs: These services include adult day care centers, senior housing residences, and older adult centers which provide educational, spiritual, and skill-based programs. There is help for veterans, community care ministries for those who are homebound/hospitalized, counseling, and more.Housing: Our emergency, transitional, and permanent housing options have an open-door policy when it comes to those needing help, whether they need a place to rest at night or assistance finding a way to stay in their own home.Anti-Human Trafficking: Our program provides a consistent, safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment. We aim to create a space where individuals can work to reclaiming control over their lives.Holiday Assistance: Every year, we provide gifts for children in need, warm meals, and a support system to families. We aim to bring joy back into the season.
