The Samaritan Center, Inc is a non-profit Christian organization, offering emergency food and financial assistance to families in need in West St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. More than 20 churches participate in the Samaritan Center, Inc's mission to ‘feed the His sheep'. In 2012 over 8,000 food-insecure local children, adults and seniors received more than an estimated $210,000 in food and $12,000 in personal care items, as well as $49,000 in housing assistance and $14,000 in utilities assistance from the Samaritan Center, Inc. Additionally, nearly 430 students from local schools received over $27,000 worth of school uniforms, shoes and supplies through the Samaritan Center Food Bank Back-To-School Assistance Program.
