The Sashbear Foundation started in memory of Sasha Menu Courey who took her own life at the age of twenty after a hard-fought battle with Borderline Personality Disorder. Sasha's legacy continues to live on in the life-changing work that Sashbear delivers directly to families to better support their mental health.The Sashbear Foundation is a Toronto based, volunteer-driven Canadian charity recognized for raising awareness of bipolar disorder and emotiondysregulation; suicide prevention; and mental health resiliency since 2011.Key program deliverable – Family Connections™ (FC). Groups operate through volunteer peer leaders in 5 provinces across the country.Family Connections™ (FC) is a peer-led evidence-based skills program for families of those struggling with a mental health or substance useissue. Research consistently demonstrates that this cost-effective program reduces families' suffering and can improve outcomes for loved ones.
