Museums & Institutions - Cottonwood, Arizona, United States
The Science Vortex is a new non-profit STEAM organization located in Cottonwood, Arizona. In May 2020, we will open our doors in Cottonwood Oak Creek School District's Educational Services building. Programming will begin in our 2,000 square foot space with summer 2020 camps: Extreme STEAM Camp, Board Game Mania Camp, Sustainability Explorers Camp, and Parent and Me Early Childhood STEAM Camp. Programming will expand this fall with a weekly toddler time, Makerspace Mondays, school field trips with hands-on labs, STEAM-themed birthday parties, weekend "Kids' Night Outs," after-school STEAM clubs, and weekend drop & go programs. With the support of generous foundations, corporations, organizations, local businesses, and individuals, we will create engaging, educational, and hands-on exhibits so that we can open for regular visiting hours in 2021.
