Music - Gainesville, Florida, United States
"The Sedoctaves" is the University of Florida's only all-female a cappella group. Since their founding in 2004, the Sedoctaves have taken Gainesville by storm. The award-winning group is made up of strong, diverse women all with different interests, majors and backgrounds who come together to make amazing music. Each year the "Sedocs" compete in ICCA (the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) Southern Quarterfinals. The girls spend most of their spring semester arranging, choreographing and preparing for the competition. In past years, the Sedoctaves have won special awards in the competition including "Best Arrangement" and "Best Soloist."When they're not competing, The Sedoctaves perform for several organizations across the University of Florida's campus. The group has been given several great opportunities to perform for organizations in the Gainesville community. The Sedoctave's self-titled EP, recorded in 2015, can be found on Spotify, iTunes and other streaming services. You can also get the group's holiday single, "Cold December Night (opb. Michael Bublé)," recorded in Fall 2017. This upcoming Spring, the group hopes to record and release their first full-length album, and are currently working hard to make it happen!
