I learned to sew when I was four years old, sitting at my great-grandmother's knee. From there I dressed numerous Barbie and baby dolls and sewed many of my own clothes. My first job was in a fabric shop. From there I spent 17 years in a better women's boutique doing alterations,including bridal, and retail sales. I also did alterations and basic tailoring for a better men's store. During that period I made a gown for the formal competition in the Miss Illinois Pageant, several bridal gowns, numerous bridesmaids and flower girl dresses.I have found myself dabbling in sewing as a business for years. I have worked for several decorators, and many individuals for home decorating sewing.Now is the time to approach my love of sewing as a business and I am enjoying every minute!
