Hospital/Clinic - Sherwood, OR, US
As a hospice consultant, I help to support hospice leaders to design practices that support end-of-life care that are in alignment with patient-centered care and to develop programs that support staff and volunteers in caring for those at the end of life in ways that are sustainable and holistic. Viewing the end of life as a sacred time frames the conversations with hospice providers in a way that brings dignity to the dying and helps to create meaning and value for caregivers. The Silver Chord also serves the dying by providing harp music at the bedside of the patient. The music creates a sacred space for the person in transition whether they are in a hospital room, nursing home, or their personal residence. The music is a great comfort to families and caregivers as well and changes the qualities of the space to one of comfort and hope.
