I started the NCC after discovering that some scented candles I was burning were toxic for my pets. These were scents that are commonly found at Christmas and I was horrified. After doing some research I found that several essential oils (such as lavender and tea tree) are poisonous when diffused into the air by candle of reed diffuser. I found it really difficult to find candles that didn't have citrus (d-limonene) in them (this is the oil from citrus fruit skin). It was also hard to find candles that listed all their scent notes so that I could identify any that were dangerous to burn around my pets so I decided to make my own. Friends tried them and loved them and so the NCC was bornI use only Soy wax that is from a sustainable source with a transparent supply chain. In addition to this, I support the Trillion Trees initiative to end deforestation by planting for 1 tree on behalf of my customers for every 3 candles sold at retail price. The oils I use are vegan friendly, paraben and silicone free. They are also free from CMR and PEG's. Parabens are particularly worrying for women who are breast feeding and those with a compromised immune system. All of my products are cruelty free and I use eco friendly wicks and recyclable gift and posting boxes. in an effort to be kind to people, pets and the environmentI am still in the early stages of this lovely journey so the stock I hold is minimal as I hand pour each candle which then cures for a minimum of 1 week. It's such a pleasure to be making something that truly can be enjoyed safely by everyone in the household (whilst keeping me occupied during lockdown)Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I'd love you to follow my journey as it continues
