The Swiss Lab for Sustainable Finance (SL4SF) is a multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary research lab founded by Swiss universities (IHEID, UNIBAS, UNIGE) and E4S comprised of UNIL, EPFL, IMD, one university from a low-income country (University of Ghana), and two international organisations (ICRC and IFC). The SL4SF, which is based at the IHEID, started its operations with the generous support of the Fondation Pictet pour le Développement in September 2021. The SL4SF's vision is to become a research center of excellence harnessing finance towards sustainability goals and impact. The Lab aims to achieve this by 1) advancing sustainable finance actionable research focusing on the SDG goals, 2) training the next generation of social scientists in sustainable finance and 3) establishing norms of sustainability and responsible finance in Switzerland and internationally. The SL4SF has identified six research themes: impact investing/measurement, markets and market instruments, environment, society, governance and technology/innovation.
