Founded in 2017 on the principle of affordable luxury, The Table Guy is a Singaporean furniture upstart retailing customisable furniture solutions for homes, corporate and commercial spaces. Starting as a one-man, home-based shop, The Table Guy has scaled in just over a year to a 6-employee, triple industrial workshop-showroom unit operation serving over 500 clients furnishing spaces of all types, sizes and uses. With especial emphasis on research and development into finishing techniques adapted to local weather and conditions, The Table Guy takes pride in retailing solid wood products finished in the modern aesthetic that enhance the inherent beauty of wood while remaining hardy enough for common, regular use. Launching in Aug 2019, The Atas Workshop (by The Table Guy) will offer bespoke furniture design services, and develops thoughtful furniture collections that create unique atmospheres. Inspired by the concept of furniture as experiential art, each piece is designed to embody, distill and communicate ideas, philosophies and stories that relate to individuals and communities. The Atas Workshop believes that good design should be accessible to everyone - the name is a wink at the colloquial use of the term to disparage designer products while aiming to reclaim its original meaning by creating products that elevate the everyday experience. The Atas Workshop specialises in the use of solid wood and metal, and collaborates with industry specialists in all other materials to offer clients high quality, bespoke furnishings at prices that fairly value the skills of specialist craftsmen. The Atas Workshop aims to build a hub of regional craftsmen for greater creative intercourse, expanding execution and creation possibilities by connecting individuals with unique and niche competencies.
