The Textbook Game specializes in buying and selling used college textbooks. We buy back used books from students from any college or university, at any time of the year. Custom books, out of print editions, and no value books can be donated at our store to our partner, Better World Books. Our purchases are tied to the wholesale value of each book in addition to it's value on the internet's used marketplace. This allows us to purchase books at a higher buyback price for the student. Many times we are also able to buy back books that are not sellable to the student's own university. These books would otherwise end up in a landfill or in the donation bins, thus extending the life of the used book and ultimately helping to decrease the high cost of textbooks. Our sale prices are Amazon-competitive as they fluctuate with the used marketplace. We do not price our used textbooks using the standard university bookstore formula which is a flat 75% of the book's new 'list' price. Thus, a $100 book will sell used at the university bookstore for $75. If is also selling on Amazon.com for $30 plus shipping and we have it in stock, it can be purchased at our store for $35 and the student walks home with it that day. Rentals are available through textbookgame.bookrenterstore.com, then just drop them off at our store at the end of the term. We are located in midtown St. Louis on the corner of Lindell and Vandeventer, just down from the Moolah Theater.
