This is not the home of the typical book review. We will not weigh you down with another version of a synopsis that's already written on the back of a book cover. We won't waste valuable Internet real estate with a summary of main characters or of a discussion of subplots. We will, on the other hand, let you in on the secret of what first attracted us to books we've read. However we must warn you that we may not always have deep, meaningful reasons for why we chose to start a relationship with a new book, for everyone knows how easy it is to judge a book by its cover! You'll also get our pick of the top 5 quotes that leapt off the page, and sometimes you may even learn a new word or two. And finally, since many of us take notes while we read, we'll also add in a few of our favorite personal comments for your enjoyment (or scrutiny…in which case, be nice!).In case you're wondering why we don't rate the books we review, it's because we've found that numeric scores often depend more on a reader's mood than on the actual reading experience, which really isn't fair to the books, now is it? So, to make a long story not quite as long as it could be, we prefer to let the words do the rating for us.
