We are a Toronto based collaborative group of creative businesses dedicated to the support of grassroots humanitarian organizations and the eradication of off shore slavery.Projects range in size from individual projects (eg. Image Management for the Longo's Mobile Map) through to large scale management that utilizes every member of the group. Group members are expected to invest a minimum of 10% of all profits to an agreed upon humanitarian project, which currently supports a community center located in Maputo Mozambique, as well as the furthering the normalization of ethically traded goods by supporting small, local tailors and vendors.Each UrbanRoom company has three main personality traits. 1. Unique Creativity: Group Members offer something out of the ordinary in their service. It's not enough just to be good and what they do, they must be innovative, willing to risk and craving to push their limits. We look for members who are not everybody's cup of tea, but who stick into everyones minds 2. Desire for Change: Each member has a desire for humanitarian change over financial gain or self promotion. Group members use business as a catalyst for change with bettering the lives of those less fortunate as the motivation for success. 3. A Collaborative View of the World. Each member sees themselves as a piece of the puzzle, not the puzzle itself. We discover the role we have to play and play it, supporting those other pieces as vital to the end picture regardless of competition or difference in style.
