Hospitality - Town of Webb, New York, United States
Established in 1904, The Waldheim is a seasonal Adirondack resort on Big Moose Lake offering the same hospitality by the same family as it did when it opened. Unlike many resorts today, we still operate on the American Plan, serving three meals daily. Guests have their meals in a central dining room while staying in one of our seventeen, lakeside cottages. The Waldheim is a quiet and rustic vacation spot, located along the north shore of picturesque Big Moose Lake. It's 300 acres are at the end of the road and adjacent to state wilderness land, leaving plenty of room for privacy, quiet, and play. Although meals are served on china and table linen, the atmosphere is restful and informal. A place where families can be families. Breakfast boasts many choices including the best pancakes in the Adirondacks served with real maple syrup. There are two choices of entrees for lunch and dinner served with homemade soups, breads, cakes, and pastries. Picnic lunches can be prepared upon request. Our seventeen cottages range in size from one to five bedrooms. Each has a living room with a wood-burning fireplace or stove, one or more bathrooms, and a porch overlooking the lake. Refrigerators are provided for snacks and ice. Cottages are cleaned daily and a woodboy starts a fire in each cottage early every morning and keeps porches stocked with wood. There are no telephones, televisions, clocks, or radios to interfere with your relaxation.
