The Water Van Project was born from the strong belief that everybody deserves access to our most basic need, WATER.In Latin America, over 60MM people don't have access to drinkable water. Every year, around 90K people die due to contaminated water consumption. Contamination, over exploitation and the absence of equality on wealth distribution are the most important causes for the lack of clean and sanitized water access in the area.In order to tackle this problem we started this project that will kick off in January 2016 and where we will travel from Mexico all the way to Peru on a van covering over 6,000 Km during 6 months focusing our efforts on three main areas:Help – Providing free access to drinkable water through water filters of long duration and high technology to communities and families with a lack of resources working together with local non-profit organizations. We will deliver filters to impact over 8,000 people being able to filter contaminated water for up to 12 years.Educate – Teaching communities and organizations the filters' installation and maintenance as well as raising awareness of the water crisis in the world, how to make a more efficient use of it and the importance of sanitation.Promote - Encouraging people in the developed areas of the world to leave their comfort zone and do what they really want to do with their lives through exposing them to both our and other projects with a social, innovative or disruptive approach. We will document the whole project sharing it through our online channels in order to maintain constant contact with our audience and supporters. At the end of the trip we will produce a documentary in order to reflect our own experiences and show the impact of our adventure.Through this project, on top of improving drastically the life quality of the communities we help, we also look for generating the feeling to everybody that follows us of going out there and fight for their dreams.
