The "Why You?" Initiative [YU?] is composed of distinguished young professionals, including doctors, lawyers, social scientists, educators, researchers, and community leaders, who have a zeal for longitudinally helping to ameliorate the academic, social, professional, and personal evolution of high school students, undergraduates, graduates, post-graduates and young professionals who may come from low-income, marginalized, disadvantaged and/or at-risk backgrounds. We provide a longitudinal support system for our target population. That support system includes individualized mentoring, dedicated resources, and preparation for an array of opportunities and experiences; essential components to our Longitudinal Centralized Support System (LcSS) Model.WHY—We understand aiding individuals in their journey to success necessitates developing enduring relationships. These sustainable relationships lead to more diverse, professional and productive communities reflective of America at her best.HOW—We implement a mixture of technological, futuristic and traditional mechanisms to create a structure and strategy that will ensure our longevity in the lives of each individual to maximize outcomes.
