While the traditional journalism business model is dying, the need for journalism — a pillar of our democracy — is more important than ever.The Beacon, a nonprofit news organization dedicated to public service journalism, is expanding in 2021 as a regional Midwest news network. Having launched a community newsroom in Kansas City in 2020, we're launching a Wichita newsroom to begin publishing in Summer 2021.
