We saw the opportunity and the need to engage in agrifoodtech entrepreneurship in a meaningful way outside of the venture capital modelThe Problem:Agtech investment is peaking BUT:1. Connectivity within and between stakeholder groups remains limited.2. "Impact" (environmental/social) investment is largely qualitative3. Innovative solutions to crucial problems continues to lag4. Adoption isn't keeping upOur Focus:The Yield Lab Institute is focused on driving more effective innovation to the market. We believe that this can be done by attracting greater diversity of innovators to agrifood tech space, and by clearly communicating the needs of current stakeholders. We can do this in a multitude of ways, from researching, advising, and consulting in specific ecosystems, to incentivizing and assisting entrepreneurship in specific sectors of ag.
