Theatr Brycheiniog offers a popular and acclaimed programme of performing arts and entertainment throughout the year.The venue has welcomed the likes of Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet, Tony Benn, Cerys Matthews, Lee Evans, Ben E King, Julian Lloyd Webber, Richard Alston Dance Company, Max Boyce, The Chronicles Of Long Kesh, BBC National Orchestra Of Wales, Earthfall, Julian Clary, Brecon Baroque Festival, Mid Wales Opera, Birmingham Stage Company, Mid Wales Chamber Orchestra, Faulty Towers Dining Experience, The Blues Band, Mappa Mundi, Edward Fox, Jethro, and Seth Lakeman. Other facilities on the theatre site include a year-round programme of visual arts by artists from the region in the Andrew Lamont Gallery and a nationally acclaimed bistro Tipple'n'Tiffin. The venue is situated at the end of the picturesque Brecon to Monmouth Canal in the pretty market town of Brecon on the edge of Brecon Beacons National Park. Theatr Brycheiniog is funded by the Arts Council of Wales, Powys County Council and Brecon Town Council.Theatr Brycheiniog has recently become the first solar-powered theatre in Wales, generating a small proportion of its energy requirements through the recently installed photo-voltaic cells on its roof. The theatre is committed to finding ways of reducing its carbon footprint further.
