Think Nusantara was founded on a dynamic online publication, the bulk of which is written by undergraduate and graduate scholars from around the world. Through this we engage Indonesians abroad with current affairs at home, welcoming the varied perspectives they bring with them. It also provides an opportunity to grapple with policy paradigms in meaningful ways, while familiarizing youth with real-world issues of importance and cultivating an ability to provide balanced analyses.Alongside this weekly publication, we host events and forums in Jakarta, Washington D.C., Boston, New York, London and Los Angeles on particular issues of development in Indonesia, which feature high-level policy experts, professionals, and distinguished scholars as panelists. In this way, we mine the wisdom and experience of the older generation, while bringing fresh perspectives into the conversation.We also partner with existing Indonesian student networks, government officials, and academic institutions to host speaker series, conferences, networking opportunities and workshops.In addition, we are in the process of setting up city chapters around the world.Think Nusantara aims to encourage young Indonesians, whether studying or working at home or abroad, to engage meaningfully with issues of national importance. Through the process of keeping up with current events, doing background research on existing issues, discussing different perspectives and writing analytical and coherent articles, a certain mindset and skill set is cultivated. By publishing thought-provoking, substantial, and investigative material, Think Nusantara also seeks to express the spirit of the Indonesian youth.
