THINKING FORWARD: Migration and Human Rights from a Community-Based PerspectiveWe combine community-based practices with extensive scholarly experience and rigorous methods to produce innovative, responsive, and pragmatic solutions to address complex problems. We unpack and re-build policies, laws, and social practices at the intersections of migration, gender, law, democracy, and human rights. We are committed to creative problem-solving about migration, human rights, democracy, and gender issues. Our multidisciplinary approach respects, supports, and promotes dialogue among different groups.By directly involving affected communities, our grounded research produces feasible, progressive, and robust strategies for change. OUR MISSIONWe identify, analyze, and report on challenges preventing the implementation of good migration governance. In order to develop best practices from a legal perspective, we consult with decision-makers, frontline workers, and academics, as well as people with lived experiences of migration. We have expertise in migration enforcement at home and abroad; alternative modes of enforcement; procedural justice for refugees and asylum seekers; and gender guidelines for working with newcomers.
