Third Coast Birth was created by Margarita Valbuena, a child development specialist and birth doula, and Shawna Mertens, a birth doula and childbirth educator, with the intent to surround families with experienced, professional support in addition to peer support during this time of great transition. We pride ourselves on our unbiased approach towards birth and parenting support, and the compassionate nature in which we collaborate with our clients. We seek to inform, comfort, and encourage; we believe that every woman, along with their partner, hold the strength and courage within themselves to birth and parent confidently.
