There are over 250,000 children that live in a home where a service member has sustained an injury or received a wound as a result of their military service. While there are not many studies on this population, most mental health professionals agree that the population as a whole internalizes their own feelings and emotions to reduce stress in the home. Third Star Foundation strives to lessen the burden of this nations youngest caregivers by providing them with applicable tools and resources they can use in their homes through ongoing workshops. These workshops get the children talking and allows them to relate to other children their own age and helps them navigate the roll of a child caregiver.
