Third Wave Foundation is a feminist, activist foundation that works nationally to support the vision and voices of young women, transgender and gender nonconforming youth ages 15 to 30. Our purpose is to support and strengthen these young activists and their allies who work for gender, racial, social, and economic justice. We accomplish this through a three-pronged strategy: -Strategic grantmaking, -Leadership development, and -Philanthropic advocacy. Third Wave Foundation’s long term goals are to: -Support young women, transgender and gender nonconforming youth and their organizations to create change in their communities; -Ensure that young women, transgender and gender nonconforming youth have the skills, power and opportunity to engage in and lead efforts for social justice; -Strengthen progressive movements by investing in the next generation of leadership; -Help grow the women’s movement by supporting new and innovative approaches to pursuing gender, racial, social and economic justice; and -Increase the amount and number of individuals and foundations giving to organizations led by young women, transgender and gender nonconforming youth.
