Tholulwazi is run by the community, for the community. This ensures a deep understanding of the relevant issues, that we are well placed to respond to identified needs, that we are invested in improving our communities, and that the community places a great deal of trust in us. We have been in operation since the mid-90s and almost all of our staff come from the communities we serve and offers us a unique perspective into community needs, even on an individual village level. Our staff have grown up facing similar challenges of economic marginalisation, water shortages, bereavement, and limited opportunities, with over 50% of our staff joining us following successful completion of the Tholulwazi youth leadership and life-skills course.
